Abstract

What can be done to improve the actual quality of the code that is produced by developers? In this talk D'Arcy Smith explains how fundamental code quality can be improved through the use of certain tools and procedures. He will talk about tools such as junit (unit testing), lint (code anomalies), jdepend (metrics) and Cobertura (code coverage). He will also present his vision of how to encourage developers to use the tools and make code quality a high priority. After the talk, there will be a discussion with the audience of how QA individuals could be or should be involved in this process.
