Implementing a Prototype Keyword Library as a First Step Toward Automated Testing

Abstract

As a first step toward automating their software testing, Active Community Solutions implemented a keyword library for their Program Registration Module. The immediate goal of the project was to automate the navigation of this module and to automate some of the existing test cases using this keyword library. It was intended that the keyword library would be used as a framework and a model for further automation. The keyword library was built using SQA basic, the scripting language for Rational Robot. Tests that use this library are constructed using Excel spreadsheets.
